The idea that we have is based on love and emotions. We decided to show what's happening through the girls perspective. We have thought about showing the good/cute moments that this girl has had with this guy. This relates to the lyrics because we are experiencing her thoughts/emotions that are going through her head. All of the good moments that will be shown, will be shown in a romantic way e.g walking in the forest holding hands.
We are also going to show two stories within this music video. We are going to show the relationship between the girl and the guy and what she wishes for, vs reality.
In the beginning of the video, we have an idea of the girl and guy facing each other, and she speaks to him but gets no response. This is before the music track begins. Then at the end of the video, it will parallel back to the start, and he says " I have to see the other girl" or something similar to that.
Professional music videos/songs that inspired us-
During the summer, we had some case studies that we analysed, songs with and without music videos. A track that did inspire us that has no existing video is "Helplessly" by Tatiana Manaois. This song inspired us purely because it's based on love/an attraction a girl has towards a guy. This relates to our video because it has the same concept. She feels good about it, yet also bad due to the mixed signals/distractions. The track that inspired us that had a music video was called "Fire We Make" by Alicia Keys. It inspired us because it is also based on a love story, even though it took a more sensual approach, it still inspired us for our music video. For example, sexual scenes within that music video. The lyrics for this video relates to our music track because the two people who have an attraction towards each other are never really together in a relationship, but they do have feelings for each other. This is like the music track "All in my head" by Tori Kelly which we are doing as they are never in a relationship but she shows how she has an attraction towards him.
Casting/actors, props, location(s)-
In terms of actors, we are going to use two main young adults, one male, one female to play the role in our story for the music track. Furthermore, we are going to use other young adults to take part in our music video, they will be within the crowd in certain scenes. Due to our target audience being young adults, we believe that using people of this age would allow people to relate to the actors. For the use of props, we were thinking of using love notes as one of our props, we are definitely going to use other props, but we are still in the process of thinking of props that would be necessary to use. The locations we are deciding to use are:
.A forest
.A bedroom/housing area.
.An isolated room
.A street
.A park
Ethical considerations-
In our video, we are going to be pushing into the boundary of mental health. She is not mentally ill, but we will be making it clear that we are experiencing her thoughts and imagining what could happen.
.Isolation- She ends up by herself by the end of the video as she did get the wrong signals.
.Explicit scenery- We don't know how much of this will be included in our music video, but there will be elements of sensual scenes.
Length of our video-
The maximum length for our video will approximately be 3.5 minutes overall, due to verbal communications at the beginning and end of the video, therefore it may be a little bit longer.
Audience-
The target audience for our video will be young adults. They will be aged between 16-24 year olds. We chose this age range because we believe that people of this age will be able to relate to this narrative the most. Also, stereotypically, love stories happen within this age range as people imagine things when they are around this age.
Niche audience- Our music video could also apply to those of an older age as many people experience these feelings throughout their lives, and many people are confused about their emotions. There are many forms of audience, but we believe these are the most targeting.
Where would we broadcast our video?
-Youtube: This is a very successful video sharing platform which would allow people from around the world to have access to our music video. As this technology is part of social media, it would make our video easier to be shared.
-Facebook: By making a Facebook page for this music video, it would allow people to interact and comment on the video about what they feel/think about it, and they would also be able to join our page. This is also another way of sharing our videos.
