Development of the magazine advert- Task 9

In this picture, I adjusted the text "All in my head" as it was placed too far in the left hand corner. Therefore I moved each word down into the correct positioning where I felt it looked appropriate.

Furthermore, above the picture of the album, I added text to inform the audience that the album is available to buy. I put this text in a purple colour to fit the house style.

Development of the magazine advert- Task 9

Today I started to design my magazine advert. I chose the picture that I wanted and placed it in the correct position. I still have adjustments to make e.g the placing of text and added more to it in general. The words "Tori Kelly" are placed at the bottom as I like the idea that was used in Tori Kelly's advert and the placing she used. Therefore I used research from my case studies.

I also added a picture of the front cover on the magazine advert as I noticed this appeared on Adele's advert from my case studies research. As soon as I saw this I knew I wanted to include it, which I did. It gives the audience an insight to what the album looks like if they want to buy it.

Development of the cd- Task 9

Within this picture, you can see that I have now added the copyright logo to the left hand side of the smaller writing. I have also added the record company XL recordings to show the audience who had actually produced this album. I decided to make the copyright writing in a much smaller text as it's less important compared to the album name and the artists name.

Development of the cd- Task 9

Here is more development of my cd cover. I placed the text "All in my head" in the right area so it fit across the cd well, and I also made sure that it was centre onwards in the cd. I decided to make this text in capital letters yet the 'Tori Kelly' in lowercase as I felt it created a good effect and it looked mature.
On the bottom of the cd, I included the copyright and ownership writing that many albums have included on their cd's. I also saw this on my case studies which helped me create this.

Development of the CD- Task 9

At this point, I had gathered the measurements for my cd itself and I also set the colours that I wanted to use. I continued the theme by using black, purple and white. I have also decided to continue to use the same font style 'Eras Light ITC' to continue with my house style.

Development of the left inside cover- Task 9

For my left inside cover, I stuck with my plan that I produced in my mock-ups. I wanted just a simplistic pattern to appear on the left hand side of my cover on the inside. I chose the colour purple to fit the theme that I've used throughout. I then created many white lines to go across horizontally as I felt like this would look good together.
Once I looked back at the previous photo, I felt as if it looked quite amateur. Therefore I decided to restart and create new lines but I used the colour black instead. I done this because it made it look more professional and it fit my theme of my CD album as a whole. I found creating the left inside of my cover quite easy as not many tools had to be used.

Back of the CD development, Task 9-

At the end of today's lesson, I felt like I had made huge improvements on the back of the CD. I decided to change the text of the tracks into capital letters as it was much more eye-catching and it created a bolder effect. I also made the text such as "(Remix)" smaller as the track name is superior to this text, but not too small that's invisible.

In addition to this, I incorporated the recording company logo onto the album as part of promotion to show the record label that the artist is part of. I also added the website of the artist on to the back of the album because it promotes the artist and allows the audience to explore the artist as a person, therefore promoting the music. On the bottom of the CD, I decided to add some text. From looking back at my case studies, I noticed that some albums have this text running along the bottom of the CD which talks about copyright, therefore no one can take credit for the album apart from the record company. I decided to include this as I feel like it's important and it also made the album look even more professional as a whole.

Back of the CD, development- Task 9

In the picture below, it shows the improvements I have made to my back cover so far in today's lesson. I have added a barcode to the back cover of the album as it needs to be included as part of the album as a whole. I placed this in the left hand corner as it fit best there so it didn't get in the way of the photo of the artist. Furthermore, I included in the bottom right hand corner "Produced by Lyle Barrett". I found that on many albums it shows who the album was produced by, therefore I decided to include it and it felt like it fit well.

Back of the cd, development- Task 9

In this picture, it shows the development I have made with adding texts. I have included all track names, the original, a remix version and a bonus track which is a lengthened version of the song, therefore encouraging the audience to buy the album as they benefit from this. In addition to this, I adjusted the placement of all the text so that they were therefore in line with each other, creating a more professional look. I didn't want to have massive gaps between the track names because it makes it look unprofessional, hence why they're closer together.

Furthermore, I decided to change the size of the text for the information in brackets as it's not the most important information, therefore I made this text smaller, and this occurs in many CD covers quite often. I feel as if the development of the back of my CD is going really well and I'm enjoying doing it.

Back cover of the CD, development- Task 9

Here in this picture shows the type of fonts and text that I have begun to include on the back cover of my CD. For the track names e.g. 'All in my head', I decided to use the same dont as used in the front cover and spine of the CD as to follow through with the house style. However I added a different font for the numbers for each track. I done this purely to add a more sophisticated touch to the back cover and not make everything look the same. Therefore you can differentiate between the tracks and the numbers of each track.

Furthermore, I chose to put the numbers in white and the track names in purple to follow through with the use of colours throughout the CD, therefore not making my CD childish-looking in any way as I have stuck with three colours throughout.

Back cover of the CD, development- Task 9

I began to make the back of the CD cover today. I chose this image because I felt like the audience needed to be shown how stressed the artist really was, therefore allowing an emotional connection to form. I placed the image into photoshop and placed it towards the right so that there was space on the left to place text for the tracks etc. I also added my rulers as a guidance where to not place text over.

Spine of the CD development- Task 9

In today's lesson, I finished the spine for my CD. I changed the colour of this go black as my whole CD background is black, therefore it had to match. Furthermore I changed the placing of the text so that it didn't look too randomly placed. I found the making of the spine for the CD pretty easy as my photoshop skills are quite good so it made this part of the CD easy to make.

Spine of the cd development- Task 9

Today I placed the right measurements into photoshop so that I could create the spine for my CD. I have followed my house still through the process of making my CD by using the colour purple in the same letters that were used on the front cover. I also used the same font to carry on with the house style theme.

Front cover final product- Task 9 (unexported version)

Today, I decided to change the placement of the text "Tori Kelly". I moved them closer together because I felt as if the gap between the two words was way too far and it didn't look very professional. I knew that I could do a better job of this, therefore I aligned the text and made it closer together. Furthermore, I decided to use my own idea of adding the colour purple to the letter I and Y because I felt like once I experimented with it, it looked like it worked and I felt like it was extremely effective. Therefore I am going to use this theme throughout the whole CD cover, so it'll be used on the spine, the CD itself and the back cover of the XD.

Front cover development

When I carried on editing my front cover, I decided to add the text. I went for a simplistic yet effective font. I chose this font because it was mature and not to cheesy or girly, therefore this font suited all audiences as I want this album to relate to both guys and girls.

Furthermore, I decided to include a colour within the text of the album name. I took this idea from Adele's 21 album as I felt like it created an effect that connotes  a sympathetic yet sign of independence. I decided to place the title of the albumat the bottom of the CD cover and the Artist's name at the top right hand corner of the cover because the album name is the most important, hence why it goes across the bottom. Then the words "Tori Kelly" needs to be appealing and in the right placement on then CD cover to promote the artist herself and to attract the audience to this album.

Front cover development

Today I started creating the front cover for my cd. I added my rulers in so that I have guidance to where the text cannot go over. I also changed the contrast and brightness levels of this photo to make it appear more balanced and it also made Ashaaana's skin more even looking.
