Photoshoot
Today, me and Courtney went to the photography studio to shoot the shots for the CD digipack and the magazine advert. Courtney and I took it in turns to shoot our individual shots as we are creating individual CD digipacks and magazine adverts. I shot the majority of my shots in black and white as I felt like this fit the theme of the track more than coloured shots as it doesn't create the same feeling. Here are some of the shots, and this photoshoot went extremely well for the both of us.

Task 8- Possible font ideas
Below is a picture of some of the fonts that I have looked at. I decided to look at the more uncomplicated texts as I believe this fits our theme for the music video and personally, I feel like it's more effective. Here are three fonts that I have looked at and the third one is the one that I feel works the best so far, however I am still going to be looking at plenty more fonts to give me many more ideas.

Task 8: Pitch
For this pitch, me and Courtney decided to do it together as we have similar ideas and are house style is going to the same for the CD digipack and the magazine advert. However, we then both thought it may be better to do our own pitches separately so that we can both express our different ideas. and therefore help each other.

Advert mock-up - Task 8
Here I have made a mock-up of the advert that I am going to be using. I am not 100% certain about the layout of my advert, but I have made a rough idea on what I want my advert to look like.
Below is a picture of my drawing of the advert and I have explained my points on there:
Mock-ups of the CD cover- Task 8
Here is my mock-ups of the CD cover. I have drawn a rough idea of how the front, back and inside cover are going to look like. I have also included what the spine of the CD and the CD itself are going to look like. I have explained all of my ideas on the picture of the drawings below:

23/10/15
Today we were filming the bedroom scenes that took place in my house. The only negative aspect of today's filming was that the lighting in the bedroom gave the shots a yellow tint to them. However, we got a lot more filmed than expected today as we filmed cute moments that the main male and female actors had spent together.
Shooting the video- Task 6
Me and Courtney decided that we were going to film the bedroom scenes for our video today, and later on in the day, edit these scenes on Final Cut Pro. Me, Courtney and Ashaana travelled to my house and we decided to shoot many scenes, especially additional shots in case we preferred certain angles etc. The clothing we decided to wear was just casual, nothing specific as it's just supposed to be a normal meeting between myself and Ashaana in the video. Courtney filmed this part of the video as I was acting in it, however I shared my thoughts and ideas about what shots we could use. We followed our storyboard with some of the shots we said we would use. I also came up with an idea of filming Ashaana putting on any type of make-up in the mirror to make it look like she's trying to impress me, as she supposedly has feelings for me. We filmed shots of me tickling Ashaan, laying on the bed with her, Ashaana playing with my hair, hugging each other and much more. I felt like this filming session was very successful.

Editing the video- Task 7
After filming the bedroom scenes today, me and Courtney decided to also edit these shots and make them part of our music video. We used almost all of the shots that filmed on this day because they were all neccessary, and they all fit the mood of the song. We decided to use this clips as short and snappy clips. This was mainly because it is supposed to be showing cute moments that I and Ashaana once had with each other, so therefore by making the clips short, it adds to the effect. We also made these shots cut to the beat.

A handmade prop for filming- Task 6
Today, I made the prop of a love letter. I done this at home and it is going to be used in part of our music video. Specifically, we have booked the TV studio for tomorrow and Ashaana is going to be ripping this love letter apart. She will be doing this because by this point in the video, she has just found out that the guy she has feelings for has got a girlfriend. Therefore, this love letter is going to be ripped up as she wrote this before she knew he had a girlfriend.
Below is a picture of the love letter.

Editing the video- Task 7
Today both me and Courtney decided to edit the lip synching parts to our video. This was quite a big chunk of our video and we did spend a long time on this. We had to choose which areas of the song we wanted to include lip synching in. Once we had done this, we had to make sure that it was all in time with the track which took a while. We also added clips that we filmed of Ashaana looking sad, angry and also crying in certain parts as we felt this made the video more emotional. While doing this, we also decided to work on editing some more of the cafe scenes, especially the ones that include just me and Demi.

16/10/15 call sheet
Today we shot a large amount of the music video as we shot the lip synching scenes in the TV studio. I feel like this was a very successful shoot today as we used a variety of shots and we had Ashaana the appropriate clothing and jewellery.
Shooting the video- Task 6
Today, me and Courtney finished our filming with Ashaana. We asked Ashaana to be able to lip synch the whole song so therefore we could pick clips from any part of the song, if we wanted. Also, if certain clips didn't fit well, we would have the choice of using another one. Both Courtney and I filmed this part of the video. We decided to film these clips in black and white to create a more sad, emotional atmosphere. I was also in charge of the lyrics that we were playing on the big screen, so I would play and pause the music at the right time for the lip synching. Here is a picture of the equipment we used to have Ashaana read.

Team meeting-
Date: 17/10/2015
Attendees: Lyle Barrett and Courtney Carr.
Start time: 10:43 am
End time: 11:40 am
Meeting topic: To discuss what changes we need to make and what we have left to do, and to also discuss our progress since the beginning.
Subjects discussed:
Both me and Courtney discussed our progress so far. We both believe that the filming is going really well, however we have realised that we have a lot to do in order to meet the deadline required. Therefore, we have decided to film extra for a few days during half term to make sure we complete the filming.
Availability and commitment: We have had problems with both availability and commitment from our main actor (Ashaana), so we have therefore revised our filming schedule, making sure that everyone is available at the same time.
We also discussed the occurrence of weather changes. As we are in Autumn and the clocks have not long gone back, the day is getting shorter and it is getting darker much quicker, In order to resolve this, we have decided to film our narrative scenes inside (a cafe) rather than in a park/forest. In addition to this, we have also decided to book the TV studio in college which would allow us to film Ashaana lip syncing. We decided to do this inside due to lighting issues and mainly because we felt like it created a better effect. Me and Courtney also decided to film these shots in black and white as it created a more sad atmosphere. We have decided to set the camera to monochrome so that we don't have to alter the clips via colour correction on Final Cut Pro.

Editing the video- Task 7
In this editing session, I was focused on making the shots look appropriate and correct. decided that a panning shot that was filmed in one of our locations was too bright, and we needed to colour correct this shot. I learnt how to change specific depths of colour to change the brightness to an appropriate colour, making it appear normal. I also added effects to some of our shots, so once we put them together, they would "fade in" to each other, for example. Courtney wasn't here in this editing session as I done this in my own time after college.

Editing the video- Task 7
Today, me and Courtney both made huge improvements on our editing as it is slowly coming together. We decided to shorten the narrative down at the beginning of the video because it was way too long. We haven't done anything in terms of adding effects in this section. However, we did discuss what effects we were going to include as we thought they were appropriate to be used in the narrative. We believe it improves our video.
We also added text to our video today. We decided to use the text "Apple Chancery" as after going through many fonts, this felt like it fit the theme of our video the most as our video is based on love and emotions. This font felt like it portrayed that. Furthermore, on the clip of the location called "Cafe brunch", we rotated the clip as it was a bit slanted. We didn't find this too complicated, if anything, pretty simple. We also decided to change this clip from a pan to a freeze frame as we felt that it fit the video better.
Editing the video- Task 7
Today, me and Courtney began editing our video, we were watching the clips we had filmed, especially the narrative clips that we are going to be using. We were mainly sorting out what clips we were and weren't using. We also started to begin putting the clips where we felt they were most appropriate. We also added the track and made sure all of our footage was converted at this point so that we could carry on editing, making sure not to loose anything.
Later on today, I came back to do more editing. Courtney couldn't make it to this editing session, however I am taking a lead role in editing as I took less action in the process of filming. I began to include more shots and decide whether they were appropriate, or looked as good as we hoped them to be and if they should be included in our video. For example, this shot of the phone ringing, I personally think this is a good shot to include, and I also believe that it's a good angle.
Team meeting-
Me and Courtney are continuously meeting to discuss where we are, and what needs to be completed in terms of filming and meeting. Today we met and we discussed what we needed to film on which days and how to catch up due to actors not being available for one of the days we needed to film. We also discussed changing our plan due to the weather scenes and the lighting. This meeting was very useful to keep up to date.

Editing the video- Task 7
In today's lesson, me and Courtney changed our narrative scenes. We have decided to have the instrumental in the intro of the song before Tori Kelly starts singing, to replace the narrative speech. The sound quality of the narrative scene wasn't the best. Therefore, we decided to still use the clip as it was filmed well, showing a conversation between the two actors, but the instrumental would be playing over it. We also added a few more clips, such as the clip showing that there has been a miss call from "bae" which is a slang term for showing that you have feelings for someone. This clip was out with the lyrics "Every time you wanted to hang" as the calls to bae shows the interest of meeting each other.
At lunch time, I stayed behind because I decided to carry on editing. Courtney didn't stay throughout lunchtime to edit, so I carried on the editing myself. I decided to add one of the cute clips to fit the lyrics "you seemed so interested". Me and Courtney both decided to make the clips every time it cut to the beat. Therefore, I made the clip of me giving Ashaana a piggy back cut to the beat. I also added an effect called 'cross dissolve' to lead on to a piece of lip synching Ashaana performed. I decided that this specific part of lip synching suited the part of the song I was editing. Today was a very useful editing session and both I and Courtney got a huge amount done.

Shooting the video- Task 6
Me and Courtney arranged to meet Demi and Ashaana today to film more scenes for our music video. We decided to meet at the college and make our way to the cafe we got permission to film in. We decided to change the scenery for the narrative part of our video which will be at the beginning and end of the video. Instead of filming them in the park/forest, we changed it and decided to film it in the cafe. This was purely because lighting was much better and it created a more significant effect due to other scenes filmed in the video.
In addition to this, we also filmed the scenes where I introduce Demi who is my girlfriend in the video, to Ashaana who is the girl who has feelings towards me. We filmed this in the cafe as originally planned and it went really well. However, the battery died at one point, therefore we are all going back there to meet again and film the remaining scenes there.
Here are some pictures to show me setting up the camera for this part, both me and Courtney filmed this part of the video.

Shooting the video- Task 6
Today, me and Courtney booked the TV studio to film during our lesson. Both me and Courtney will be filming this part of the video and Ashaana will be lip synching more parts of the song for the video. We plan to get a lot done in the hour slot we have booked.
Editing the video- Task 7
In today's lesson, both me and Courtney begun editing. We were watching the narrative scenes we shot at Alexandra palace. At first, we thought that these shots were good and most of them were quite useful. However, when we watched them again, we noticed that the shots were too dark, the lighting wasn't perfect and the background noise was an inconvenience. The lighting was due to weather changes, as in this season the weather changed quickly and it got quite dark by the time we arrived in Alexandra Palace.

08/10/15 call sheet
I believe that today's filming session wa successful as we got the majority of our narrative scenes filmed.
Shooting the video- Task 6
Today me, Courtney, Ashaana and Demi all met to film at Alexandra Palace. We fed odds to film the narrative scenes that will be at the beginning and end of our music video, and we also decided to film the shots with myself, Ashaana and Demi. These shots and scenes were filmed quite well and once looking back at the footage, both me and Courtndy were quite happy with how it went. We filmed for about an hour (maybe just a bit more) to complete the shots we had planned to complete on this day.
Here is a picture to show us getting ready to film at Alexandra Palace.

Weather report-
Today, after our team meeting, me and Courtney decided to check the weather for the whole of this week as we are filming a few times this week. We are filming Wednesday and it's raining on that day, however we can work around this. On Friday when we are also filming, it's going to be sunny which is good as we wanted to film certain scenes on this day with good weather.
Here is a picture below to show the weather report:

Call sheet for 06/10/15
After filming on this day, we decided to document our progress by creating a call sheet. This shows the amount of scenes and actors used etc. Today was a successful day for filming.
Task 6- Shooting the video:
Today, me and Courtney begun our first day of shooting for our music video. Me and Courtney changed around two of the actors. Ashaana is now the main girl actor, and Demi is the second girl actor. This is due to Ashaana being more available with times, so we thought this would fit best. Me, Courtney and Ashaana met today at 3pm, and we filmed for an hour or two. We filmed some of the 'cute moments' in our music video. I also acted in these scenes of the video with Ashaana as I am the main guy actor. We believed that the handheld effect created a more personal feeling to the scene and it drew the audience's attention more. Therefore, we filmed it handheld. When the camera was on the tripod, it didn't create the same effect, therefore we chose to do it handheld.
We filmed each of the shots/ scenes we done more than once. This was because we wanted to repeat it to make it better than the first original time. Down below shows the location where we were filming (the park/field) and shows the camera set up ready to film our scenes:
Courtney first filmed a long shot of me giving Ashaana a piggy back. She then filmed us with the camera handheld. We chose to use the handheld shot as when we looked back at it, we felt like it created a more personal effect. The long shot did not feel personal at all.
Here is a picture of our call sheet to show the change in roles. This shows that Ashaana is now the main girl actor, and Demi is the minor actor.

Team meeting- Task 5:
Today, me and Courtney decided to meet and have a team meeting to finalise our plans, we decided to discuss the main topics such as: Sexual elements, me acting within the video, making sure everyone is available and discussing the overall plan. In the picture below is more detailed notes of what we discussed in this meeting.
Recce- Task 5:
Today, Me and Courtney made our Recce, which consists of all the locations that we are filming in and why we chose these locations in particualr. We decided to use prezi to present this.
Task 5- Risk assessment forms
Today, me and Courtney created our risk assessment sheets for each location that we're going to be at. We also spoke about how these risks would affect the actors and what we would do to prevent these risks. I feel like this was a very useful thing to do because it made me more aware of the risks within surroundings we're using. Here are the pictures of our risk assessment sheets filled out:
Location and talent release form: Task 5-
Today, me and Courtney got the signatures of the actors who are going to be involved within this music video. They all agreed to participate in the video as shown in the pictures.
Task 5- Props, costumes and make-up:
Today, me and Courtney spoke about the props, costumes and make-up that is going to be used within our video. We discussed what each actor/actress will need within each scene. Here is the work we done for it:
